Whiskey. What can I say? The smooth kick of whiskey is like no other. Ideally, a Hot Toddy is a whiskey drink with honey and warm water, but I decided to give it a spicy twist with Sriracha sauce, in this hot toddy whiskey cocktail with sriracha.
Honey, whiskey and water is already a good combination, especially for a nightcap, but I just couldn’t help myself and added this sriracha sauce to the mix and just fell in love.
For an old soul like myself, this recipe completely stole my heart. I sometimes hope I actually get a cold to make myself this fab hot drink. Friends over or family, this drink is great for a cosy get-together to reminisce about old times, cuddle up and sip on this adult whiskey tea (sort of)
Ingredients
- Whiskey (30 ml)
- Honey (1 tsp)
- Ginger (a few slices)
- Lemon (tbsp)
- Sriracha Sauce (half tsp)
Directions
In a bowl, whisk together the honey, a tablespoon of lemon juice, and the sriracha sauce.
Separately, put whiskey and ginger slices in a pot and let it simmer for a few minutes on low heat. Then, add the sriracha honey mix to the whiskey.
This drink is perfect for a night at home, with friends or alone, and is a great cure for a stubborn cold. Have this drink at night to rest well on a day you just feel like you need a break.
Our suggestion – If you aren’t a fan of sriracha sauce, tobacco will do.
Serve hot and garnish with a slice of lemon and ginger in a cup and enjoy.
