Basil Whiskey Lemongrass Cocktail

Are you a whiskey person? Scotch. On the rocks? I’m guessing, if you are, then you’re a fan of classics, an old fashioned taste. Which is why this Basil Whiskey Lemongrass Cocktail is for you. A classic, no extra artificial tastes, just plain old whiskey with a kick of basil leaves and lemongrass to refresh you like never before. I once again procured this recipe from my favourite drinks menu at Butterfly High (Bandra Kurla Complex) and just knew that I had to recreate it and share it with you all.

This drink is for all whiskey lovers. The taste of the whiskey is still intact with an interesting twist of lemongrass and basil leaves. Fragrant, fresh, and still strong as ever. This cocktail smells heavenly, and tastes even better, trust me. The strong flavours of whiskey and fragrant lemongrass make it oh so irresistible and add an interesting twist to your same old whiskey on the rocks.

So get yourself together and make yourself this intersting drink. You wont regret it.

Ingredients

  1. 100 Pipers whiskey (1-2 shots)
  2. Fresh Basil Leaves
  3. Fresh Lemongrass Leaves (haldful)
  4. Lime Juice (half a lime)
  5. Dash of sugar

How to mix

Cut the lemongrass leaves and basil leaves finely. Sautee the leaves and whiskey in a pan on low heat until infused. Let it cool. When it’s cool, add lime, whiskey mix, ice and a dash of sugar to a cocktail shaker and mix with ice.

Our suggestion

Add soda or a little sprite to the drink as it can get a little strong.

This nighttime drink is a perfect combination of citrus and whiskey, put together in a unique drink and best enjoyed while chilled and with friends or family. This Basil Whiskey Lemongrass Cocktail is one of a kind and super fun to make.
