Before the outbreak of coronavirus, social distancing was a term we hadn’t heard of. We took personal space for granted and greeted our friends with hugs. Now, the three-foot rule has become the six-foot rule. Is there a way to maintain relationships with your loved ones, during this time of global pandemic? There sure is. For us here in India, it looks like social distancing isn’t going away any time soon, which can be a good thing! This is good for our physical health, but mental health, not so much. People all around the world, have found simple yet heartwarming ways to make their special friends’ special days unique. In India, a group of friends held a Skype Sangeet for a couple who had to postpone their wedding due to coronavirus. They had a jolly good time at that!
She shared the clip with the caption, “Our friends threw us a #BawaMani Virtual Sangeet Party since our wedding couldn’t take place this weekend! Our hearts are full of love for these bums who made our day.”
The video begins with a message from the couple’s friends, “Gazal and Hemant, here’s little something from all of us together in isolation.” Then the group of friends, dressed in traditional attires, start dancing on a Punjabi song called Na Dil De Pardesi Nu by Mohammed Siddiq and Ranjit Kaur. How cute!
