Coronavirus has been taking lives left right and centre. But the Oldest Woman Beat Coronavirus like it was easy! This fit – hail and heart young-old Maria Branyas is over 113 years old. She has successfully beat this nasty virus and proved to the world that she is no less.
The oldest woman beat coronavirus – in this time of distress. Good for her! Maria Branyas was born in San Francisco but moved to Spain, where she has become the country’s oldest citizen.
Branyas was diagnosed back in April – and was in lockdown until she recovered. In Spain 26,920 people have already lost their lives due to the coronavirus. She fought; and like how!
Maria Branyas fought the coronavirus in a retirement home where several elderly people lost their lives fighting the coronavirus disease.
Her daughter Rosa Moret told reporters that Branyas is a strong and positive person. She added that her mother suffered a urine infection while infected with Covid-19, but said the virus itself was symptomless.
Moret said Branyas had grown bored of being isolated in her room, having received her last visitor on her birthday on 4 March, before visits were prohibited.
Moret, who set up a Twitter account for her mum, said of Branyas: “Now she is fine, she is willing to talk, to explain, to think, she is herself again.”
What is her secret to a long, healthy life?
In an interview with Branyas, an employee asked the secret of her long life. Branyas replied simply that she is lucky to enjoy ‘good health’.
She moved to Spain with her family on a boat during World War I and also lived through the Spanish flu pandemic that swept the world in 1918-19 as well as Spain’s 1936-39 civil war.
Bravo!
