In 2016, Judith Nwokocha gave birth to twins. Rare twins different skins. So different she thought the nurse handed her the wrong baby! Her daughter Kachi, has a rare case of albinism. While her son is black; her daughter is white and blonde.
In an interview with Brightside.me, Judith spoke about her daughters condition. She shares plenty of images of her 2 kids. On Instagram, Kamsi and Kachi have amassed over 7,000 followers! Rare Twins Different Skins.
Kachi has oculocutaneous albinism (OCA) type 2. It is an inherited condition where people do not produce sufficient melanin (pigment). This drastically affects their appearance. Mainly in the eyes, skin, and hair. Her son Kamsi did not show any signs of albinism though.
Side Effects?
One in every 4 children has the chance of being affected when both parents are carriers of the albinism gene. Kachi’s skin is much more sensitive to the sun. She also has to wear glasses due to her slightly poorer eyesight. But she is perfectly healthy.
Judith is originally from Nigeria and works as a photographer. Now in Canada, she shares plenty of photos of Kamsi and Kachi’s everyday adventures.
Judith is very open about her children. She publicly speaks about how blessed she feels to have these 2 wonderful children. Even though they look very different, in many ways they are very alike. Their bond grows stronger by the day!
It’s natural for people to assume she’s adopted. But Judith doesn’t let that get in the way. She’s a proud mother and boasts about her kids like any mom would. The twins are now 4, and enjoy their life. Their Instagram handle is @black_n_white. Check it out!
