We all pay good money to watch fancy movies in fancy theatres. These movies have a lot going behind the scenes; and some of them get pricey. The set, cast, budget, outfits… It’s a whole production.
1. “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” (2011) — $376.5 million
Pirates of the Caribbean In 2014, Forbes claimed thatfinancial statements showed the film cost $410.6 million before a tax credit worth at least $34.1 million. According to Forbes, Johnny Depp made $55 million for the sequel.
2. “Avengers: Infinity War” (2018) — $316 million+
Avengers Infinity War earned a worldwide gross of $2 billion. The marketing budget estimated $150 million – $170 million. Woah!
Plot: The Avengers must stop Thanos, an intergalactic warlord, from getting his hands on all the infinity stones. However, Thanos is prepared to go to any lengths to carry out his insane plan.
The Wall Street Journal added, in 2018 April that the film cost around $300 million to make.
3. “Justice League” (2017) — ~$300 million
Justice League hit a worldwide gross of $657.9 million with the production and marketing total of an estimated $400 million+.
PLOT : Fuelled by his restored faith in humanity, and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists newfound ally Diana Prince to face an even greater threat. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to recruit a team to stand against this newly-awakened enemy. In 2017, the Wall Street Journal reported the budget for the film grew to about $300 million.
