In this odd time, it’s best to watch heavy movies that you can’t get over thinking about. Why, you ask? Now is the time to appreciate such brilliant direction and performances when we have all the time on our hands. Start by planning and keeping a complete day free. Be it with family or all by yourself – these movies are best enjoyed with full concentration and a big bowl of snacks for accompaniment. (BONUS – healthy snack hack at the end of the article)

Please note – this article lists movies that are totally worth the hype and 100% worth watching.

1. Silence of the Lambs

One of my personal favourites. This gripping psycho-thriller by Thomas Harris, The Silence of the Lambs is a fictional novel that tells the tale of an FBI agent Clarice Starling and her quest to find a serial killer who abducts women. However, to catch one you need to think like a serial killer. She must learn how such a criminal mind works, for which she seeks help of Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Sir Anthony Hopkins) who is a psychiatrist imprisoned for being a serial killer who cannibalized his target victims. In short, this interesting jaw dropping movie is truly a MUST WATCH classic for anyone.

As this would be a life-changing opportunity for her, she stops at nothing to get it.

Her mother’s pressure, the play’s director, and an unhealthy rivalry with another dancer will lead Nina to lose herself in her own head and get sick. She starts to confuse reality with her imagination. Nina gets caught in a web of problems she made for herself with her other personality…
