As an Indian, there’s nothing more I love in my food than a slight sautee of curry leaves in almost all my dishes. But drinks? What? Never heard of it until today! Thanks to Butterfly High (Bandra Kurla Complex) This Kadipatta Tadka Mojito is officially the most unique and flavourful cocktail I’ve ever tasted. A Kadipatta Tadka to a drink? It doesn’t really get better than this.
It wasn’t until recently when I made this drink and it left my pals wondering what the hell I put in it. But the secrets out. The strong flavours of curry leaves, mint and honey unravel on your tongue like no other. The mix of such flavours is unheard of as it is, but put together it’s almost the greatest thing that happened to mankind after social media.
Ingredients
- Bacardi (1 shot)
- Curry Leaves (Kadipatta)
- Honey (1 tsp)
- Mint leaves
- Mustard Seeds
- Lemon Wedges
- Soda (just a dash)
Directions
Sautee the Curry Leaves in a small pan with the Bacardi, mint leaves and mustard seeds for a minute or two and then wait for it to cool down. Add honey, a dash of soda, the lemon wedge and the rest of the sauteed Bacardi mix to a cocktail mixer with ice and shake.
Add to a glass with ice and top with a lemon wedge and enjoy!
Kadipatta or Curry leaves are of an Indian origin and are used in many dishes in india and Sri Lanka. Most of the dishes here have these leaves, and add a fabulous taste and texture. Not only is this recipe unique in taste but it’s also completely unheard of!
