Lemon, Rosemary Gin Cocktail

This Lemon, Rosemary Gin cocktail is something special! This drink makes a great and beautiful start to an evening/afternoon party. Well to any occasion! The flavours of all the ingredients in this Lemon, Rosemary Gin Cocktail blend perfectly with gin in a way you can’t imagine.

The strong flavours of rosemary, coriander and lemon enhance the wonderful botanical flavours in the gin. The coriander seed, also known as dhaniya. It is used in the preparation of many gins, which is why it works so wonderfully with this Lemon Rosemary Gin Cocktail. So what’s not to love? The flavours of coriander seeds are savoury and warming too.

This drink is light-tasting and fairly easy to make. So grab all the ingredients listed below and get bartending.

Ingredients

  • half a lemon
  • 1/2 sprigs rosemary
  • 1/2 tsp coriander/dhaniya seed
  • 2 shots gin
  • 1 cup ice
  • tonic water
  • pinch mixed peppercorns

Directions

Put a cast iron fry pan or heavy non-stick pan over high heat and allow it to get hot. Cut the lemon into quarters and place them cut side down in the hot pan. Once the lemon is charred turn to char the other cut edge. Remove from the pan and set aside to cool.

Then, put the rosemary, coriander seeds and gin into a cocktail shaker or measuring jug. Use a wooden spoon to lightly bash the aromatics. Divide the ice between two large round bottomed glasses.

Top up with tonic water, stir briefly and add in your charred lemon quarters.Serve  immediately with a small pinch of whole peppercorns.
