Olive Martini

Dirty Olive Martini

The Dirty Olive Martini is delicious, easy to make, and a great way to experiment with alcohol for first-timers. Not only because it’s easy, but because it’s literally only 3 ingredients! With a sophisticated adult twist to it, this drink looks like there’s more to it than it looks. It’s got great taste and can be whipped up quickly. With the difficulty level of 0, this drink is perfect for night-time parties.

This Dirty Olive Martini is another concoction from P.F Chang’s menu and is divine in all aspects. If you’re a fan of olives, then this drink is for you. It’s dry yet flavourful, not too harsh on the throat (depends on what alcohol you use, I used Ketel one Vodka) and when I say strong, I mean it’s really strong. This drink has no chaser, and it’s almost like vodka straight up, but with a unique side of olive flavour. Upon tasting, you won’t know where the olive taste comes from, because it’s blended so well.

So, martini lovers, this one’s for you to enjoy. Grab the ingredients listed below to make this fabulous semi-dry Dirty Olive Martini with olive juice, soaked olives and vodka straight up.

Ingredients

  • Vodka 15 ml
  • Olive Juice 20 ml
  • Vermouth Soaked Olives

Directions

For the Olive Juice

Ingredients

  • 2 cups green olives
  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons salt

Equipment

  • 1 glass jar and lid (Recycling an old olive jar is fine.)
  • Wooden spoon

Directions

  1. Put the olives in the glass jar, and press them well with the wooden spoon to release their natural juices.
  2. Mix the water, vinegar, and salt, and pour the mixture over the olives. Be sure the mixture covers the olives, but leave some airspace at the top of the jar.
  3. Seal the container tightly with the lid, and shake it vigorously. This action blends the mixture and allows the olives to release a little more flavor.
  4. Refrigerate the jar, and be sure to shake it again before using the juice. The longer the mixture is allowed to sit, the stronger the olive brine becomes.
  5. Repeat this process until you’ve finished your olives, and you’ll never have to waste them again.

For the drink

Add the vodka, olive juice and vermouth-soaked olives to a cocktail shaker and mix well until blended without ice. Fine strain the result into a martini glass. Garnish with Olives if desired and enjoy!
