Mirror Mirror

Calgary welcomes the Mirror Mirror art experience with open doors.

Entering Moment Factory’s Mirror Mirror is like stepping into another realm, offering a captivating experience across seven unique spaces. Utilizing lasers, lights, smoke, mirrors, video, music, and interactive elements, Mirror Mirror presents a journey that is undeniably one-of-a-kind.

Making its Western Canada debut at CF Chinook Centre, this immersive experience, previously showcased in Montreal and Australia, occupies the 40,000 sq. ft. space formerly held by Nordstrom’s. Creative Director Marie Belzil expressed the team’s long-standing ambition to create an indoor experience that brings people closer to the city’s pulse.

The 45-minute experience invites visitors to traverse laser-filled spaces, interact with virtual rivers that create music with every step, engage with windows into memories and emotions, and immerse themselves in rooms defying spatial norms. Virtually everything in Mirror Mirror, aside from a few mirrors, is fully interactive.

Moment Factory, renowned for collaborations with global music icons, has extended its expertise to create placemaking exhibits in diverse locations. Belzil emphasized the blend of art and entertainment, with Mirror Mirror exploring the depths of human perception and emotion.

Darren Milne, General Manager at CF Chinook Centre, highlighted the collaborative effort to transform the former Nordstrom’s space into a temporary art installation. Mirror Mirror received positive feedback from retailers, aiming to attract customers seeking interactive experiences.

Mirror Mirror’s presence is expected to enhance the shopping center’s appeal, providing an immersive experience that goes beyond conventional retail. Ticket sales are open through February, with the potential for an extended stay based on demand.
